Upper arm tattoos have quite a tradition in the Western part of the world. Interestingly, some people believe that it was actually Popeye the Sailor Man (yes, the cartoon) who spearheaded the craze. Of course, you may think this ridiculous and would rather believe that the wrestlers were the culprits. Either way, these tattoos have become so popular that people from all over the world, when they initially think of inking their bodies, choose to do it on the arm.
Although quite a lot of women sport body arts, men are undoubtedly the biggest fans of tattoos on the upper arm. Why? Because of three reasons:
* They are cool - The arm is a great place for any body art. It is something always exposed and there is no need to wear something special just to show the world about what you have inked in there. It doesn't look like you are trying hard to get attention either since attention is naturally given on the parts of your body that are exposed.
* They are masculine - With great biceps or without, upper arm tattoos just give this impression (or is it illusion?) that the arm is strong and powerful. Although not necessarily big, the arms are known to be a part of the body where a lot of strength is drawn. Putting a tattoo in the upper arm amplifies this impact and it definitely adds up to masculinity.
* They are sexy - Opinions may vary, but people who love tattoos appreciate tattoos everywhere especially the arms. They find it sexy and it adds up to a man's appeal, just like a woman's tattoo on her lower back.
